My daughter and I are constantly looking for daytrip adventures (gas prices and all) . Today we went to the US National Whitewater Center outside of Charlotte . This place has so much to offer . Whitewater rafting/kayaking (Class III & IV rapids), river canoing , climbing , repelling , ropes courses , challange courses , mt biking trails , geocaching . We had a blast it was our first whitewater rafting . Here is a blurb from their site
